Not feeling anything in my buttocks.

Hello there,

Just wanted to see if I can get any advice on building the butt.

I have done alot of research on how to, but still dont seem to get it right.

Yesterday I did 30 minutes of interval sprinting, walking n running on incline as well as lunges and squats using 20 pound dumbbells (no barbells available).

While running on incline I felt only a slight burn on the back of my thighs. During lunges and squats I felt just a small burn on front of thighs.

I didn't feel anything at all in my buttocks and still dont.

When doing lunges and squats I make sure to stand feet apart a little wider then the shoulders and I go as deep as I can. Still no feeling in my buttocks.

What could I be doing wrong? And how do I build the butt? Are there any excirses that really work?

Thanks in advance!

Butt

If you're not feeling it in your butt, then your form is wrong.
When doing squats, don't try to squat down, bring your hips back, stick your butt out, and keep your chest up, keeping all the weight in your heels, til you get your form down its going to feel like you're going to fall backwards.
When you do lunges, keep all the weight in your front heel, put no weight in your back leg, and make sure that your hips move up and down in a straight line, no back and forth motion and no side to side motion. Stand sideways in a mirror to watch yourself, and get the mind to muscle relationship going for you. Think about squeezing the heck out of your butt when you go down and up. And with squats, keep your legs from locking out when you stand up, and make sure to push your hips forward while you squeeze your butt, like you're doing a little humping movement, sorry that's the best way to describe it.
Running at in incline i've never felt my butt get sore, i wouldn't rely on that to tone your butt. You could also do dead lifts which will tone your entire body, especially your core and glutes / hamstrings.

Also, when you squat try varying the width of your feet and putting a block under your heels. Although you will probably need a lot more weight than what you have to tax your glutes.

Another good glute exercise is Romanian Deadlifts. Remember to concentrate on tensing your butt and pushing your hips through as you come up to put the stress on your glutes and not your spinal erectors.

your butt muscles are the same as any other,if you want a big butt you need to lift heavier weights.
