not cardio that stops me...

Hey guys, im 6 foot and currently way 87kgs, im trying cut down my body fat % so i have a better looking body and also gain fitness as i play soccer regularly.
My current exercise schedule looks like...

Sunday morning : high intensity training with soccer team (200m & 400m sprints, shuttle runs etc)
Monday: sometimes rest, sometimes 3.5km run (16min 40)
tuesday: summer soccer (25 min halves on 1/4 field, so lots of short sprints, faster paced game)
wednesday: rest
thursday: either 5km run or HIIT on a long set of stairs going 100% for maybe 8-10 intervals if that
Friday: Swimming (either 2km if i did HIIT on thursday, or i do HIIT 50m sprints with 30 secs rest if i did 5km run on thursday)
Saturday: Rest

Repeat

however in my training with running i have found its not my cardio that is slowing me down or almost stopping me on my 3.5km or 5km runs but my legs and ankle muscles just get so tired they cant really push anymore. My question is firstly does this look like a good training schedule to loose body fat % and also gain great fitness and secondly do you think my leg problem is just a strength problem and will reduce as my training goes on or should i be doing squats and that to get more strength, or could it be a foot problem and should i go to a foot specialist?

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

(PS i have a good diet going with it as well)

I'm not an expert so I wont bother to even try assuming your workout and passing comment, I'd think it depends on your age, what your day to day job is, your lifestyle, eating plan.... All I know is what I can get away with and no doubt different from one person to another.

I'd imagine (as you probably already know) that your legs complaining is a sign your at your max and that the area thats said "no more" is important to obey. I exercise and find my energy levels are still high after an hour and a half but I do slow down what I can do as different parts of me just flag out and have no energy to do anymore. If I don't listen to them I carry on working under the knowlegde I wont do as well the next day as I will be too worn out from the day before.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is why should it be any different whatever part of your body or energy levels says no more? If it were your heart getting tierd or your energy levels going downhill, would you react differently? the heart is a muscle just like your legs are muscles. Just like you need to listen to your heart getting tierd, you also need to listen to the rest of your body. I've learn that for me, its important to take notice whatever part of you complains and deal with it rahter then assuming you can carry on with strapping, pills or thinking "well my hearts still beating/my arms can still move so I should keep moving onwards"

By all means, get your Gait tested at a sports shop, make sure your footware is apporpiate for what your doing (eg don't wear tennis shoes to run marathons in!) but new shoes are only going to do so much, if you feel like your muscles are tierd, maybe its because they are worn out rather then just unsupported.

Maybe try a few resistance training exercises with your lower legs, that could help?

I'd say that if your having sharp pain or cramp in your legs whilst your trying to workout, that would be a case for unsupported footware, but not so much fatigue- all though you never know till you try!

Good luck with it though.
