Noobie getting lost

First off, I like to say HI to all members. I have a question that I meaning to ask to those who have succeded in shedding pounds in short period of time.
I'm anything but an athelete type. Never once intrested in working out. Few weeks ago, I decided to ditch those bad habits and began my workout session, just to have better lifestyle and to feel better about myself. I used traidmill for 20mins(combination of jogging and walking) and elliptical for 10mins until the day before yesterday. After reading an article on weight loss, which states that one needs to use traidmill for 30mins without taking a break, is the key to lose weight, I changed the way I do and follow that route. I also do some equipment free exercises from this video( ***.metacafe.com/watch/722975/top_8_low_back_exercises_without_any_equipment/ ) for another 30mins right after my cardio.
The average calorie burn from my cardio workout is about 230cal. My question is, why can't I shed a single pound even after working out for 3 weeks for 1 hour everyday? As an asian, my daily diet include rice. I reduce my fat and sugar intake and give up my favourite meat, PORK ever since I start workingout. But still failing to lose a sigle pound. My BMI is 26.2(5' 3.5" & 150lb). Any input will be greatly appreciated.

My apology to mods for providing a link. I have limited english due to the fact that its not mother tongue and doesnt have the ability to describe the exercise I do in words.

I'm having the same problem. I'm asian so most of the meal is with white rice. I need help cutting the rice down and anyone got any protein recipes so I can cook?

Control your rice intake. This is one carbohydrate Asians can't live without.I know because I am. :)
I did and the result is pretty amazing. I reduced my rice intake to half and substitute it with raw vegetables like cabbage, chinese lettuce. I lose 3 pounds within 5 days :p Now, I'm paying attention to all my calorie intake.

You could reduce rice intake and have vegetables as substitute. That works pretty well for me. As for protein recipe, if you have low-fat grill, thai grilled chicken is really good. Here's recipe if you want to try :

12 boneless skinless chicken thighs
1/3 cup chopped fresh basil
1/3 cup chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon minced chili
1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
Directions
1Combine all ingredients except chicken in a bowl.
2Mix thoroughly.
3Add chicken and leave to marinate at least one hour, preferably longer.
4Grill chicken on the BBQ, hotplate or in the griller until golden brown and cooked through.
