I used to be in great shape in my early 20's, but got married, fat and lazy. I'm 31 now and for the last 3 months have been working very hard at getting back in shape. In March when I started and since have lost about 20-25 lbs I was at 265lbs and now Im bouncing back and forth between 240-245. Even though I've recently stepped my workouts up even more my weight loss seems to have stopped dead in its tracks. My diet is very well managed at this point, I only drink water and juice, only eat chicken, fish, vegetables, rice etc, in proper proportions. I weight train 4 times a week now alternating between upper and lower body excersices, I'm keeping the weight I'm using relatively low and keeping the reps high, I do 3 sets of 20 on each excersize and am trying to tone down rather then bulk up. Also for cardio I've been bodyboarding 4 or 5 times a week for at least 2 hours. Basically I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me as to what I might change in order to get the most out of my time. I know Ive been pushing myself pretty hard especially considering I hadnt done anything for almost 10 years. I'm not getting really sore like I used to with the weight training but, I expected that.
I don't really want to increase the weight Im using because it's still a good workout for me and like I said before I really dont want to get any bigger. The cardio I'm doing should also be more then enough, I guess I'm just at a loss here as what to expect...anyone have any ideas or is this normal?
