Noob from Ohio :)

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to the fitness scene, and with the exception of my oldest brother (a runner), my family doesn't have a history of fitness

Anyways, this may be more than you want to know, but a bit about me (health wise)...

I'm 19, male, and have joined a gym and since the last 4 months I have lost about 30 lbs... I've gone from about 190 lbs. to 161 lbs. I was a size 38, now a 34. I checked my BMI and it appears to be normal at 22.5. I think 161 lbs. seems fine, if anything I could probably gain a couple pounds you'd think, however, I have a noticeable belly still, and my lovehands are a problem. I lost most my weight by the treadmill and stretches, and rarely do any weight lifting. I am assuming that's my weak area and should probably focus on that? Since I'm not a big weight lifter I find it hard to pick up the weights and lift beside the body builders ;).

I look forward to reading the gobs of information on this forum!

Welcome. I think you are going to find here, that resistance training should be a staple in your healthy living regiment. Don't fret the bodybuilders. They are not going to care about what weights you are moving in the gym!

Thanks for the welcome all, and I agree stroutman81, but it's just scary to start it at my age, I feel like I'm a decade behind for some reason.

aevans410, I live in the englewood/clayton area. Nice to see some fellow Ohioans on here.
