Non Scale Victory

Hmmm...

Having to give all of my OLD clothes to the same friends who used to tease me for being the FAT guy... on more than one occasion. All of my close friends at one point have taken something from my old wardrobe.

Awesome Keith!

That's awesome. I just went through the clothes in my closet and dresser today and put together 4 trash bags full for goodwill. I kept the grey sweater and jeans I was wearing in that October pic I put up in the Before & After shoot... you know, for amusement's sake.

Naturally... I did the same. It's quite odd having 46 pants lying around on the top shelf of one of my closets with a 2XL shirt. It's fun to do every few months to get a reminder that I really did fit in those clothes.

Is it just me.. but I also have a pair of jeans that I started in. I put them on the other week to see the difference, and to me, it seems like not as big a difference as compared to looking at pictures.

I was standing in the closet while my partner was sitting on the bed and I was trying on things to see if they still fit. Needless to say, a lot of it was huge on me, so I say to her, "did this stuff actually fit?" She just laughed at me. Anyway, I really can't tell now by looking at clothes if they're going to fit or not. It's a strange feeling.

Oh, another thing... even as I'm typing this, I'm sitting really far from my computer. I just scooted closer and it's much better on my back.

Losing weight is disorienting... as if the light-headedness from lower blood-pressure wasn't enough to deal with. lol

That lightheadedness has been an issue for me for about a year... I think my body has finally adapted to it.

You are totally describing me about 8 months ago. Interesting stuff from this perspective.

!! I've been feeling a bit lightheaded on occasion. It's not just me?

There are lots of little victories but I think the one that gives me the most pleasure is my upper arms. They used to be mooshy and had a dimpled appearance. Now there is real muscle definition and tone in the biceps and triceps. When I cross my arms and my fingers press against my bicep, it just gives me an extraordinary feeling of accomplishment.

Lightheaded? Weight loss can cause this? I have been having an issue with this since October, when I was hit by a big rig. I was almost positive it had to do with the accident? Mostly it happens when I am kneeling down and getting back up, or getting out of bed too quickly. Things that never gave me this feeling before the accident. At that point I had only lost about 50 pounds. Is this what you guys are talking about, or just lightheadedness in general?

When I continually poke my thigh while sitting and wonder at how HARD it feels. There's definitely a layer of fat missing and the running isn't hurting either!

Collar bones, jaw bone, knuckles, ankles...I can feel/see everything again! That and my clothes. I kept all my smaller clothes and about every two weeks another thing will start to fit me again.

Fitting into clothes i couldnt for ages, being ok abt showing my midriff on holiday and the responses of people who havnt seen me for a while!

Being called "svelte", "skinny", and "beauteous" by family members that haven't seen me in awhile.

I have an air shock for the back of my mountain bike. I have to pump it up every now and then. The pressure should be the rider's weight plus ten pounds. Having to let out some pressure is so nice.

I was buying a 2 cycle tiller last week and grabbed the box to carry to the check stand. I think the total weight (tiller and box) was under 30 pounds but I was offered help in carrying the box cuz "it was bigger than me". :)

I've also been offered help with my speakers at work cuz they're bigger than me. That hasn't happened in a long while. It certainly never happened before I lost weight.
