It's definitely time for a journal. I've fallen off, not so bad, but enough that I know that it's time to get ahold of things and get back to a better diet and start exercising again. I know tomorrow I'll be around 190 which is 13 lbs heavier than my overall low of 177 and 20 lbs away from my ultimate goal of 170. Ever since evacuating for Gustav, I have had a poor diet and haven't exercised much at all. That ends Friday, November 28! I'll do my best to post here daily.

So today was fine food wise. I started induction and I had maybe 15 total carbs today, so I'm off to a good start there. Unfortunately, I was unable to find time to exercise, but I was active cleaning and rearranging my son's room. It's all painted in New Orleans Saints colors now... posters, pictures, window valences, etc are all hung. Bought and assembled a media shelf to put all of his video games on. Tomorrow I will definitely exercise, no doubt!

Induction? Is that a low carb thing? I'm not a big fan of the low carb diet myself. It just doesn't seem to be a life long change for people. Sure some have done it, but that seems to be the rarity. Of course most people who make a life long change don't even keep it that long, so I guess whatever works for you, right?

Low carb is the only thing that's ever worked for me for consistent weight loss. And I agree with you regarding dieting - you need to do what works for you. I took off 70 lbs with low carb dieting and exercise. Then I switched to a glycemic impact lifestyle (not "diet") where I ate steel cut oats with berries for breakfast most days, then chose "better" carbs (non refined sugars and starches, whole grain items) and lean, non-fried meats. I did great with that for a long time... now it's time to remind myself of how I lost it and what I need to do to maintain.

That's cool. I hope to make the changes that I've made permanent, too. If that happens I'll be a happy camper. Right now I've gone up over Thanksgiving to my upper limit, so I think it's time to cut down before Christmas.

I'm still doing fine, food wise, but I can't find my way to the elliptical and weights! I waste time here and there and before I know it, it's midnight! Breakfast was 3 eggs with 2 ounces of grated cheddar and a cup of coffee with cream and splenda. Lunch was about 4 oz of pork roast, Arizona sugar free iced tea and an Atkins chocolate bar (2 net carbs). Dinner was 8 oz roast beef, broccoli and portabello mushrooms that were cooked with the roast. I also had a snack of 3 oz of cheese before dinner.

I have to quit stalling and start exercising!
