No Time To Workout

Forum Members-

Here is my day:

I wake up at 5am.
Eat, get dressed, shower by 5:45am
Get on train to go to work at 6am

Work until 5pm
Get on train to come home at 5:30pm
Get home at 7pm
Eat dinner at 7:30pm
In bed by 8pm
Lights out at 8:30
Hopefully asleep by 9pm

Here's my deal... I have long days at work just like anyone else. It's my commute that kills me. I commute between 3 and 4 hours per day to and from home. If I do not get 7-8 hours of sleep, I die at work. Before I started this job I was unemployed which let me ride my bike 100 miles a week. Now I am virtually sedentary.

I eat a decent diet of about 2000 calories and drink only water. Whole wheats, good protein, balanced diet overall, Tonalin CLA, Flax Seed Oil, and multivitamin is all I take. My diet is good in my opinion. I walk when I can. I take steps instead of elevators. I walk from bus stops and the sort. Theres only so much you can do in downtown Dallas at 7am.

I am 5'11 now at 245 pounds @ 30%BF and I want to get down to 195 @ 10%BF one day. I just don't see it happening at this job I have and I can't get a different job. My health is VERY important to me.

I have zero time on the weekends. My weekends are catch up time from the week. I know someone is gonna tell me to workout on the weekends, but man, i'm tellin ya, i ain't got no time =/

Anyone have any ideas to drop that body fat ? I guess I'm just on here to have a pity party. :(

Time constraints like that are the pits. I used to have a real long commute too. Thank goodness I don't anymore.

You must have 2 days off a week, right? You can get a lot done in those 2 days. Weights in the morning, some cardio later in the day. It would be good if you could fit something in during the week though instead of cramming it all in at once. Do you have time either before or after work to just do a few body weight exercises at home? Some push ups, sits ups, squats, etc? Maybe from 8pm to 8:15pm. And in between getting off work and catching the train do you have time for a little walking? Even 15 minutes per day will help if you can walk fast enough to get your heart rate up.

Hope that helps.

Good tips from Sarah. Also is it possible for you to have a pair of free weights at work? You can do simple strength training exercises at your desk. If not, you can do some bodyweight exercises.

What about your lunch break? Do you get an hour? Maybe try something there.
