no more supersize

Hello everyone,

what do you think about McDonalds taking the 'supersize' off their menu. Will it really help or will it just put more money in their pocket?

I think that getting rid of the supersize option won't help with those who are suing McDonald's because they and/or their children were over-weight. People have a choice on what they want to eat, it's not like anyone was twisting their arm. It's just unfortunate, because most Americans don't have time to sit down and make a healthy dinner because they have too much on their agendas, ie. kids activity and the quickest thing to grab is usually fast food.

As for the money situation with McDonald's, they're still going to be racking in the dough because there's something in their food that almost makes you addicted to it. Plus if someone wanted 'supersize' fries that bad they would just order two regular sizes and that's more profit for McDonalds.

you guys are right - no mcd's is the best choice:)
I still was interested if you thought that it would make a difference for the ones that just can't stay away...

i didn't know they were taking it off their menu ... nor did i know that people were suing them. I think that suing them is pretty stupid because it's not McD's fault that these people go there ... they only have themselves to blame.

WHAT, there are actually people out there, suing McD's for their weight gain??? That is along the same lines as suing the tobacco companies...

'cept worse ... at least smoking is actually proven to be addictive ... McD's is just pure laziness and/or lack of will power ... may sound harsh to some on this forum, but I've never liked McD's ... not even very fond of the taste.

I dont no why but i was always addicted to m'ds, but for the last 3 weeks i have only had m'ds proberly 2 times and even then i dont have much and yea u do feel guilty about it so i go for a run or walk after it, and also i dont want all my hard work to go down the drain.

I actually had A&W for Lunch yesterday:eek: , but I didn't have the fries and only a small root-beer. And I enjoyed it without feeling guilty until late afternoon...then I started feeling bad about it...but the damage is done and I won't go back for a long time (hopefully).

Try and not to let yourself feel like that , because that can cause you to stop trying to lose weight .... Instead just pick up were you left off, and with myself if i do have Mcdonals or something like chocolate I always have a couple of cups of hot water , because hot water helps to clean your system out.... Hope this was a help

It's all about capitalism and how to make money. But some ppl have actually woke up and said "oh my god.. ive put on weight it must be all that fast food ive been eating" Hmmm.. Mcdonalds don't care if they have people gaining weight, as long as they have there money in there pocket by the end of the day.

Heard on the radio that there was apparently a show on some TV channel about a guy that only ate McD's for a month. He gained - I think - 45lbs and came away with liver and kidney damage, that might be irreparable...Haven't seen the show myself, but the radio show host sounded quite shocked and vowed not to eat fast food anymore.

yea i heard abit about that show too, I was watching Rove (a talk showtype of show) and it had the guy on there that actually done that show, and he said that after 15 days (i think) the doctors told him to stop eating Mcdonalds otherwise he could die from it, The doctor said that his colestreol (sorry cant spell lol) was dangerously high, and his kidney and liver were damaged and even apart from that he said, that he was suffering from depression and getting into moods and heaps of other stuff but cant remember lol, but i do remember that they showed how much sugar and fat he would had eaten and it was like 3 big bowls or sugar and 1 really big bowl of fat yuk!!!!..... KIDS DONT TRY THIS AT HOME .......:p

goto www.mcdonalds.com.au

This is McDonalds Australia, I eat Maccas every day and am loosing weight.

They have a new menu called salads Plus and I LOVE IT!!!

Wish all Maccas could use it!!!

And what's more, Maccas Australia are even admitting that eating their food for a lonbg time day after day is bad for you, they mad a tv ad. Admitting it

Go Mc Donalds!!!

but, of course, MacDonalds isn't to blame. It's the lack of self-control and laziness that is to blame. They provide decent food quickly, but that's no excuse to eat it on a daily basis. The other fast food restuarants are no different.

Maybe I'm a goody two shoes, but I really love the McD's salads--and the Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinagrette dressing is awesome on any of the salads. And some have the Campbell's restaurant soups. You can get a healthy, filling meal there.

As far as fast food being addictive, it's sort of true. If you've read _Fast Food Nation_, there is an entire chapter about the flavor and aroma chemicals that are added to almost all processed foods to make them even more delicious (in their fatty way) than homecooked versions of the same thing. No matter what you do, you can't make fries at home that taste like McD's. Their flavor chemicals are patented.

Here in Canada you can still get super size, although, after watching supersize me, me and my girlfriend stop eating fasted food. But one good thing about supersize was, when we did eat there, one of us would get the super size and the other would get the burger of there choice, and we spilt the fries and coke. I know we were cheap-Os but for two University stunted, we had to be.

That is stupid to sue McDonalds for their weight gain. They should have been eating smart and excercising in the first place. People who gain weight shouldn't blame McDonalds for their trouble. If McDonalds didn't exist they would try to sue another company.

A doctor in Australia has just ate McDonalds for 3 months and he lost something like 20kg, i think it comes down to the choices we make.We all no what is good for us and what's not. Here's to helthy eating.
