After quietly reading these forums for a few days, I've finally decided to at least say hello and introduce myself.

I'm Paige and i'm 27 years old, 5'7". When I was 22 I weighed 150 and started doing Atkins to get rid of vanity pounds. I lost 10 pounds in the span of 2 months, but couldnt stick to the restrictions of the diet. I gained all those pounds back and more.

I saw the scale slowing rising through the years, while randomly throwing in crazy diets (cabbage soup, the zone, south beach), but like in the past, I couldn't stick to any of them.

When I got married at 26 I became even more lazy and saw the scale hit 200 and when I saw myself gain 10 more I got the wake up call I needed. Instead of all these restrictive diets, I'm just watching my calories and plugging in everything I eat using fitday.com. I see all the wonderful support everyone gets here and I think it would give me the push I need.

I hope to get to know you all soon! :)

As you have found the restrictive diet approach usually has the opposite result - it makes you think about all things you are restricting and makes you want those things more. Sounds like you are taking a very sensible approach now. Try to make it fun for yourself too - reward yourself with non food rewards as that can be a great motivator. Good luck on your journey.
