No Meal Plan, Does It Matter???

Ok so ive been eating healthy for the past 3 weeks now but i dont stick to a meal plan, does it matter? I mean what i usually it is a bowl of cereal for breaky usually some fitnesse flakes, then i chomp a sandwich for lunch followed by a yoghurt, then i eat a low fat meal from asda for dinner. I mean this is my usual day for eating, work permitting, and i exercise every morning, also ive already started losing some weight so is it that important to have a meal plan. I dont usually get hungry between the meals and if i am i usually just eat a little sausage roll thats only 6 grams of fat and that fills me up. Plese tell me if this just isnt helping and if i do infact need a meal plan?

Nope, I like variety, so usually (except for lunch, since I love cooking chicken for my lunch...) I differ my breakfasts, snacks, and normally don't have a choice for dinner (unless I happen to be cooking dinner, which is rare...). Variety is good, I've found.

if you can try to fit 2 or 3 more meals in there, just small ones to help your metabolism going.

yeah i dont follow a meal plan i actually think its better not to follow one just eat healthy so you can get all your nutrients.

I'm super-anal, and I can't function if I don't have a schedule/list/plan for absolutely everything. I would probably starve if I didn't have a meal plan.

Anyways, I think it's good to have some sort of plan, so you know how many calories you are taking in (important if your goals are to lose fat). Also, you can be sure you're eating enough produce, protein, fibre, fats, etc. during the day.

your meal plan is severely lacking in protein. you are likely losing water weight and muscle tissue, rather than burning off fat.

Exactly, some people may be doing ok 'winging it' but you will never reach your full potential without a meal plan. Like Spock said you need to know your total calories consumed to determine if you have a calorie deficit, surplus or if your just maintaining. On top of that how do you know what percentage of what your eating comes from carbs, proteins and fat. Add up what you eat in a normal day sometime and it will probably suprise you. Just at a glance that looks like way too few calories. 1800 is the recommended minimum for males, 1200 for females.

yeah, it doesn't look like you are eating nearly enough of anything. For optimum fat loss and muscle building results, it's best to eat every 2 hours, with at least 15 grams of protein w/ each meal.

"little sausage roll" doesn't sound like a very good choice, either. It doesn't matter how many grams of fat are in it - what you have to be concerned with are the calories.

I think because you are eating too little, it would be advisable to start off with a meal plan. After getting used to it, and learning the calories in foods, you'll be able to go off it and eat 'normal.'
