No Excuses...Just bloody do it!!!!

Hi Kate, glad you see you and Sparked back!!

I've had a bit of a re-gain too, I have the opposite problem to you though- I still get all my workouts in, just getting a calorie deficit every day is proving to be an issue right now. I know we can get there!!! Got my game face on. WOO!!

Well done on the half marathon, I still remember when you had only started c25k so long ago. You really should be proud!!

Hi sweets, just read my last post again & I sounded like a right nag! You're going great guns! Cutting down the sweetener is a good thing & you did really well cutting it out for a whole week! I don't like normal green tea either, but love peppermint. Spearmint is even nicer. The gym would be sociable I would imagine. I've forgotten what going to a gym is like, is was SOOO many years ago. Lots of love xoxo Cate

WOW, 9lbs in a week is CRAZY!! Woop woop!!!!!!

Hehe I couldn't live without a bit of sweetener every day. I make my own Natvia mixture from erythritol and stevia and it's pretty much calorie free and doesn't affect blood sugar. Also doesn't upset your stomach like xylitol can!

Hey Kate,
Great that you are back (don't be too hard on yourself hon, quite a few of us...me big time...regained some of the weight we had lost and then felt like complete and utter failures - in fact, although I only gained 25lbs, I felt like I'd gained the whole 58lbs back). The main thing is, you know what to do and you know how to do it :)
And you do kick ass. "I kick ass". Doctors orders are to chant this daily...hourly...every minute...

The sugar thing is so interesting. I honestly believe until recently that i was addicted to sugar. I'd calorie count, miss out good food and fill 1/3 of my daily calories allowance with bags of mini chocolate fingers or biscuits or chocolate bars. Even weight watchers chocolate bars... It was like I'd get all dizzy and weak if I didn't eat something sugery every few hours. I even scoffed a load of fruit - pineapple, apples, melons, grapes...all the sugery ones!

So I went cold turkey for a week - on anything with sugar in it or artificial sweetners - including squash, fruit, sauces with sugar, WW meals, processed meat, sweetcorn...you name it - if I didn't cook it and it wasn't sugar-free, I didn't eat it. I now feel free of the craving. I might have an occasional chocolate bar but its not the same as it was before. That week was utter hell though ;) I think it was all down to rampantly out of control blood sugar levels (given up wheat and processed carbs as well but that is another story!!)

Anyhowz, GO GO GO! 9lbs down and the rest of the weight will fall off. Stop beating yourself up and start praising yourself for doing good :)

Good job on the 9 pound loss Kate!! You can do the 30 min exercise/day...keep it a priority and make the time for it like you would for your job or other things that are really important for you. Easier said than done some times I know, but that's what it takes.

Good job on resisting the bisquits at the blood bank...I know those things are easy to store and wont parish, but sometimes when I think of things that won't decompose outside..what is it doing inside my body, and that makes it a little easier to resist! One thing I've learned lately is to eat in 3's...1 healthy fat (like walnuts, almonds or butter) 1 carbohydrate (vegetable or fruit, not breads or pastas), and 1 protein (meat or cheese). All of this in moderation of course to respect my daily calorie count, but it seems to satisfy my hunger quicker and keep me fuller longer. It may be mental..like most weightloss stuff is, but it's working for me today!
Keep making great choices Kate and keep up your exercising!

Sarah

Hi Kate!! 9 lbs is ridiculous!! You did so much better than I did at the first return to weigh in! It's been way too long since you posted, so I hope I get to see something from you soon! :) I can not believe you did a half marathon... that's simply amazing.. you're my hero!! As far as the sugar, I agree with Sarah, when you cut that stuff out, you really stop craving it! I've removed all sucrose from my diet for the last few weeks now (left the fruit sugar- fructose- because that's a totally different animal) and I honestly couldn't care less about overly sweet, sugary things right now, it has no appeal! When I crave something sweet anymore, it's always something that's good for me. There's a bunch of science behind it, but I won't get into it! ;) Miss you, hope to hear from you soon!
