No energy, alwyas tired

I'm looking for help on how to start working out. I'm a little out of shape and not over weight. I always feel tired but have no energy to start a workout even though I really want to. I know once I start I will feel better. Second question is working out in the morning better then in the afternoon? I figure if I can wake up, work out, I’ll feel better during the day. Looking for any idea and help.

Generally since you've just awoken, morning is when you'd have the most energy. Plus you'd be able to have the rest of the day knowing you're already done with it. As for what to do, I'm by no means a trainer, but from what I've been told and have read, a mix of weight training and cardiovascular training will help you get to where you want to be. As a beginner I was prescribed a full body workout 3x a week, with 3-5 cardio workouts. I still follow that schedule now, nearly 2 years in.

About when to exercise: I aim to do it when I have the most success getting there, starting, and finishing a quality session.

No sense in pushing yourself into exercising at a prescribed time of the day if you're not inclined to move hard then or if you can't make it work easily given your schedule. If you don't make it manageable and convenient, the odds are that in time, you'll find yourself talking yourself out of exercising and you'll slack off slowly/surely. I'd aim to it when you can do it thoroughly and enthusiastically, when you're the least rushed, and when you're not tempted to do (or talked into doing) other things instead. Good luck!

Morning is best for me and it's blocked out on the calendar and scheduled in as part of my workday. You can plan for it the night before and you don't have all day to find excuses. Not to mention that you'll feel good about it all day long.

Everyone is different, though. I just focus better in the morning, period. If you can put a more wholehearted effort into it in the afternoon or at night, then go for it.

I have more success in the mornings too. Aiming to do it after work makes it too easy to put it off or cut it short. Plus, it's too crowded at my gym > 3pm to have any real faith that I'll be able to use the machines that I want.

I know a guy who is not a morning person but who structured his entire (new) exercise plan around doing a very early-morning start because he read that that's when you burn the most fat. He was due to start that plan after Christmas and go to the gym 5 days a week starting at something like 4:30 each time. Since Christmas, he has gone 3 times total. He's fighting himself to do this thing--exercise when he thinks he'll burn the most fat--but that's just turning out to be a plan-breaking hurdle.

What about your diet? What you eat also plays a factor. Make sure you're getting all your nutrients. I feel better with THROTTLE MATRIX everyday, being a graduate student, I have to put in long hours of research late at night and Throttle Matrix keeps my mind focused. Have a look at their site . I don’t know what I would do without it.
