No clue where and how to start. Want to lose weight.

Hello guys. I am a 6' 3" male @ 276lbs looking to lose weight and keep it off.

I know some of the basics like my daily calorie intake is my weight x 11 and that if I want to lose 1 pound per week I have to shave off 500 calories from that number. But I'm having a problem getting started.

First, I don't know what to eat. Proteins, Good Fat, Bad Fat, Good Carb, Bad Carb- this is just all Latin to me. Next, I don't know what would be the proper excersize. Right now I'm just going to the gym- stretch for 5 minutes, warm up on the treadmill for 15 go to arm training then core training on one plan, or stretch > warm up > leg > back training on another but I'm doing it in the blind as I don't know how many "reps" and "sets" to do (whatever those mean) and finally I just have no idea how to properly work myself out.

So guys, any help here is appreciated. I'm not asking you guys to do all the work for me but I'm asking for a point in the right direction for a diet and work-out routine.

From my own experience and what I have read, the biggest key to losing weight is your diet and cardio exercise. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

My advice to you would be to stop drinking anything except water, certain fruit juices, and healthy teas like green tea.

Plan a healthy diet. If you want to notice the biggest difference besides the advantages of losing weight such as increased energy, clear skin, and a bulletproof immune system, a healthy diet is required. Vitamins will not cut it, planning your diet around getting a healthy dose of all the vitamins and minerals will make the biggest difference of your life.

Stay away from eating out whenever possibly. I went to a pizza place today with my family and I found it SO HARD not to eat some of that tantalizing gorgeous pizza. At the moment I have have no choice in losing weight, I HAVE to if I want to start my career, and today was a hard day. Luckily this place had a wonderful greek salad which I thoroughly enjoyed.

You will need expand your food tastes. I don't know what you like or don't like to eat, but you will need to get over it. I eat things that don't taste good to me all the time, but I do it for myself because food IS NOT ABOUT TASTE, it's about energy. People are now so obsessed with the way things taste, I have literally seen adults cry about eating something that doesn't taste good. GET OVER IT people!

Focus on what your BODY needs and not on what your mouth craves and that will do more for your waistline than 1,000,000 pushups and crunches.

Good Luck!
