no bread, really?

is there such thing as a no bread diet? the last time i did this i had a sandwich a day, but as i`m finding that i`m looking to switch to salads and soup. will it make that much of a difference if i stay in my calerie allowence and also after words will i be able to go back to bread with in reason.
 
You don't have to eat bread. I don't because I don't like it.


However, if you are doing a rigorous exercise programme you will still want to eat carbs in some form. I find vegetable based carbs work just as well for me so I eat potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, etc. My exercise programme is quite aggressive so I will add grains (oats, brown rice, pure fruit bars, etc) when I start getting tired. And I eat bananas every day all year and other fruits when they are in season.


All this adds up to a fair amount of carb in my diet but I derive none of it through bread.


But providing you get the carb you need to maintain good energy levels personally I don't think it makes much difference how you get it. There are some people who don't believe in eating grain based foods such as bread (or rice or pasta for that matter) but I've never found it made much difference to weight gain or loss.
