Cheers for the ideas, anyone got any suggestions on how to fix a battered sleeping cycle? (...) I was thinking about instead of sleeping till 11 or 12 I set my alarm for around 9 or 10, meaning that I get up with only 5-6 hours sleep meaning that I'm tired enough to go to bed at 10pm that night. Thoughts?
Come on, really? There's nothing wrong with asking questions but I really get the feeling that you know all the answers your looking for before you ask em.
1. You know how to cut calories when you go out, you drink less calories. That means drinking less or drinking lower calorie drinks. You go to bars so we all know that you are aware it's just as easy to get water or diet soda as easy as a beer at one.
2. Nothing replaces sleep. Period. If your gonna stay up til 5 or 6am you are going to lose sleep somewhere. Your 21, this is probably the only time in your life you can run even somewhat efficiently on that little sleep, take advantage. Sorry to tell you, but it just gets harder from here.
3. Why are you eating at 5am anyway? When your done hanging out with your friends just go home and go to bed. I'll buy that you can't not drink while they are drinking, but they make you feel bad about not eating too?
And even if you do have to eat, a burger is really the best you can get?
I know nothing about where you live, but I find that hard to swallow. I live in the south, we have Waffle House (just google it...) and even THEY sell salad.
And if you really can't find ANYTHING healthy, use the time to keep drinking water, it does make mornings easier and it's a lot easier to get up if you have to pee.
And please understand that I am in now way giving you shit or looking down on what you do. I did the same thing for years, only I usually ended up having to stay awake til I went to work because I knew I'd never be able to wake up if I went to bed.
Your in college and use words like quagmire, so your not stupid, lol.
Suck it up and be 21! We all were once, and truth be told, some people can not handle that kind of lifestyle. If it really is this much of a "quagmire" for you, you may not be cut out for it like your friends, and you could get burned out really fast.
