News: More Americans Obese than Overweight

What's sad is we've known about this problem for a long time and what positive steps has anyone really taken to fix this problem? They changed the food pyramid a little, pardon my over-excitement. How about people start stepping up and trying to make a difference on something other than dollars and cents. I don't know, maybe that's just me.

:bigear:This has been such an interesting thread. I am really pleased that there are folks out there trying to help the morbidly obese, looking more deeply than just the weight itself. Steve made some really interesting points. I like the compassion that I have seen in this thread.

When Mal said this: "Somewhere over the past 3 years - I stopped looking at the "done" point and realized that I would never indeed be done... that it was a rest of my life thing (not lifestyle change, but a change that would take me the rest of my life and I'd always have to be aware fr the rest of my life)" I thought it was a brilliant paradigm shift that many of us can likely relate to. Thanks for putting it so succinctly, Mal! I was unaware of your journey and appreciate what you've shared here.

Cheers to you all as we walk our own journeys,
ABBA
