I don't really know the layout of the foum layout, so I'm going to post both my introduction and question here, apologies in advance if thats against any rules.
Hey all, the name is Aidan, and I'm a 18 year old South African male who has recently decided to get lean, fit and strong, so I can get the most out of this thing we call life while I'm entering my prime
Truth be told, I've never done any form of exercise in my life, all throughout school i was more of an intellectual than an athlete, which I regret, and Im lucky to not be obese. i blame it on my mothers healthy cooking.
So i've done abit of reading, and set myself a few goals.
I've started the c25k running program, and do the 100 push up and 200 sit up programs to exercise those areas of my body, as i don't have access to a gym or any equipment, barring a single homemade dumbell.
So essentially what I am doing in terms of strength training is,
5 sets of pushups
5 sets of sit ups
5 sets of dumbell curls
And I do this every monday, wednesday and friday, with increasing reps each week.
I cant help but feel i am missing out some major muscle groups, ie my back , lats etc, and I could really use some advice.
Thanks all,
Aidan
P.S, My ultimate goal \is to be lean strong and toned, i do not want to be bulky, as I would love to try sports such as boxing, parkour, mountaineering etc etcc
