Right I'm a 20 year old currently at 5'5 and 247.8 pounds. I'm a computer addict with plenty of time to blow everyday and I find it hard to move away from all the forums I visit and the people I chat with ( my messengers are like cellphones for addicts of that kind)

My wedding is in October 2009 and it as well my failing health is a real motivator to get my ass in gear and lose the extra weight. I'm aiming at the moment for 25 pounds by new years.

Good luck on your journey and welcome to the forum.

From your username it would appear you are a fan of Oblivion as well heh heh.

Forums are a great resource as long as they don't keep your from exercising consistently!

Wish you luck and welcome aboard. :)

Morning and welcome to the WLF. As for being addicted to computers... yah, I used to do that ALL the time, then I realized it's so much nicer to go outside and do things... you know... like conversing with others, hanging out with friends, etc... haha You may want to start a food journal if you haven't already. Also, have you decided what you plan to do diet/ fitness wise to get the ball moving? Good luck.

PS Congrats with the wedding. :D

Yeah kicking the computer habit will be harder than eating right and exercising. I don't like outside except for two weeks in spring and fall when the weather is perfect. I recently moved and most of the people I know now lives hours away so going out and socializing isn't really an option( Nor do I feel attractive enough to venture out unless I have to). I use the internet to talk to my friends still. Keep track of my family and just entertain myself in general. It's my link to the outside world from the safety of my own home.

I've started a journal I've some basic things I'm going to do this week to see where I am again. Mostly I'm sort of lost and unsure where I'm headed, just that I can't afford to keep backsliding.

Thanks, the wedding seems so far away and yet so close at the same time.

You feel lost.

So get some plans down on paper. I've always felt that committing my thoughts and goals on paper 'sealed the deal' in terms of actually sticking with it.

How do you plan on going about your weight loss, specifically?

Mostly a combination of daily walks that'll steadily get longer combined with seeing how far into a a beginners striptease/aerobics dvd can get each day. That plus eliminating all takeout and eating as healthy as our budget allows.

I'm a also looking into very soft stuff I can do for days when my arthritis hurts to bad for a full workout.

Moving more and eating better/less than before is a great place to start. Just don't get frustrated when things don't go your way. Come here and ask questions about what you can do to improve.
