Hi all,

As a newcomer to dieting and fitness, I thought I would try some weight loss forums to check out what other people do and how they manage their weight. I would like to shed some initial weight quite quickly and then start exercising to help me prepare for paradise this Summer - that's a hot beach somewhere!! Can't really afford the Gymn and do suffer from extreme laziness. However, 50's approaching means that I haven't got forever to keep putting it off...

Anyone out there like me?

Well, welcome to the forum. Give us some basic info like weight, height, etc. That can help. Losing weight quickly isn't likely to happen in a healthy way. It is going to take time but we are here to help support you.

Thanks for the acknowledgement. I am pretty rubbish on the computer. Forgot to put my height in, etc. Are you in South Carolina? I spent several months there once upon a time - dossing around like!!

Will go back and try to put some more details in.
Not even sure if i'm just responding to one person now or talking to everyone; don't know how these forums work yet....

No problem. Everyone can see what you write and everyone can respond to give you encouragement and advice. There are some here that are good to listen to.

I live in Lancaster with my fiancee, it's near the NC border.


Don't worry, we won't laugh or anything about your lack of computer skills. If anything you should be applauded for taking the steps to get advice and encouragement.

When you reply to this, type your height and weight, also anything else that can help such as how much exercise do you do.
