Hi there!
My names Amy.. I'm not new to weight loss.. 2 years ago I weighed 131kg.. but managed to get it down to 102kg. Things started changing in my life.. and I stopped losing weight, and have actually crept back up to around 118kg :(
I'm wanting to get back into the weight loss, and get down to my goal of 70kg. I know its going to take ages, but I feel so bad for letting my weight creep up again!
I lost the weight before by exercising and eating healthy. No gyms, no fad diets, and i'm hoping to be able to do that again. I just need to find my motivation again!
I'm hoping by joining a forum, its going to keep me accountable. I'm going to weigh in officially tomorrow morning.. And that will be my starting point. I'm going to create a weight loss diary on this forum, and i don't mind if no one reads it, but its a place where I can keep myself accountable for what i eat and what I do!

Hope to get to know some of you :)

Good luck, Amy. And welcome to the community.

Do you plan on doing anything differently this time around to ensure you don't fall into the temporary success problem you realized last time?

Yes.. I plan on picking motivation that is ongoing, and not temporary.
I will admit, my last bout of weight loss was attributed to revenge motivation... but thats since worn off.
My new motivation is to have a baby. I can't concieve naturally.. so we need assisted reproduction treatment. I can't get refered for this unless i'm in the normal weight range.
It isn't really getting me INTO the weight loss, as thats the hardest part. But I think as soon as I start losing weight, it will become easier and that motivation will keep me going.
Its hard to get ANYTHING to motivate you when it seems to hard to get started. But from memory, as soon as you see the numbers on the scale dropping, the motivation kicks in as your actually working towards your goal.

Don't make it about weight loss. Make it about finding ways to be happy with more activity and eating healthily. If you do that enough, the weight loss will follow.

I find that focusing on the lifestyle rather than the weight is a better way to maintain sanity.
