Hi all. My name is Lindsey. I'm from the east coast here in Canada. I came across this forum while searching the web tonight for more info about the Weight Watchers. I figured I would give it a go.

I'm 23.. I'm about 5'7" and I'm at an all-time high weight of 273lbs. Wow, I can't even believe it when I type it. The weird thing about it is.. I don't really feel like I'm almost 300lbs. I guess I started gaining weight about 3 or 4 years ago. I stopped doing the physical activity I used to and my eating habits changed. I battle anxiety and social phobia which has caused me to isolate myself from society. My weight's gotten so out of hand in my eyes, I need to make a change. It's come to the point where going to the mall is a big deal.. out of breath, sweating.

So to cut my story short.. I hope I can find motivation from some people here to turn things around and become a healthier me. I hope to make some new friends.. and we could encourage each other.

keep in mind you didn't get to 273 over night - it's not going to come off overnight -it will be a process of replacing old habits with new habits.. better ones that you can take with you for the rest of your life... you don't have to give up your favorite foods, or spend 22 hours a day sweating in the gym -it's all things in moderation and being aware of what you're doing...

Spend osme time reading the stickied threads - especially in on topic, nutrition and exercise.. they'll give you a good idea of calorie ranges to shoot for (it's going to be higher than you think) as well as giving you a starting poing for exercise.

Start yourself a diary -it allows people to get to know you better..a read other's diaries... and post in threads.. and have fun while you're here..

Welcome! I started out at a slightly higher weight than you. You can do it--you just have to make the commitment. :)

How is New Brunswick? I've heard it's beautiful and have been wanting to see for myself. :)
