Hi all,
My name is Jess and I am 23 years old. I am married, and have 3 beautiful children, 2 boys and 1 girl.. ages are from 9 months to 5 years.
I wouldn't say I am over weight but I am getting there... I am very busy with the 3 littlies and I just need some guidiance of what I should be doing, eating and all that other stuff....
I only have 1 day a week with the baby... so thats the only day i can walk around the lakes as i only have a one seat pram. We dont have spare cash to join a gym and even if we did i dont think i could go anyway cos of all the stuff i have on with the kids.
Please help me... I need to get skinny for my best friends wedding in Feb.

We can give you advice but it's still your personal journey. What works for me may not be exactly what works for you. Many of us use fitday or sparkpeople to keep track of our calories. Some people are doing weight watchers and use points. Some follow different set diets altogether. The basic concept is just to make sure you know what you're consuming and eat less than you burn to lose weight. There's also a journal section too that's good for support.

As far as exercise goes some people choose to make it part of their plan while other's don't or can't. But just like you, alot of us can't afford a gym membership and find other means. There's alot of stuff you can do without leaving your own home like stationary bikes, treadmills, dance or aerobic videos. There's tons of exercise videos on youtube now for free even and other places online. Other than that if you read the stickies there's ALOT of good information there. It's just taking the time to read through it and see what will work for you personally. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

hi there.
I'm new on the forum, but I've never had a real weght-problem, but always try to keep it in check, before it spirals out of control! Exercise is one of the hardest things to keep on doing after the initial excitement has weaned off.............My way is to take long walks, even walk to-and from work. Its not necessary to take transport to everywhere you want to be! If you're keen on exercise, you should have support and find others in the vicinity who would like to join you on regular jogs, walks and less strenous exercises.........

I have found that all of my weight loss has come from eating fewer calories. My working out has not changed my weight at all. Don't get me wrong, exercise is good for you and I highly suggest you do it. But changing your diet is really what's going to make the weight come off. Find out how many calories you should be eating to maintain and to lose (use a calculator like this ) and then track what you eat.

There are lots of exercises you can do in your house. Jumping jacks, jumping rope, push ups, sit ups, dips, squats, lunges. You don't need a gym and a lot of the time you don't even need to go outside.
