Newbie's exercise question

Hey everyone,

I'm new here, and recently began exercising regularly at my school's gym. I am an 18 year old sophomore in college. I'm 5'6" and weigh about 135 pounds. I am looking to drop 5 pounds or so, but more importantly, I am just trying to tone up and be healthier.

I have been going to the gym every other day, and I do the Stairmaster for 20 minutes, some crunches with a medicine ball, and some arm workouts. Nothing too heavy, but enough to work up a sweat and get my blood pumping. My question is, it seems that sometimes a few hours after I work out, I get dizzy and light headed. It has happened enough times that I believe it is somehow connected to my exercise. I don't think it is due to dehydration as I have been keeping hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout my workouts.

I would really appreciate any insights you may have! Thanks very much! :)

Hi there. Quick question, what do you eat prior to, during or right after the training session to fuel, how much, what type etc. Could be you've just burned thru some glycoen and you're a bit low on energy.

Some people make the mistake of trying to restrict their calories at critical times like this when they are trying to lean out but you end up not giving your body what it needs to function and recover.

Usually I just grab a granola bar or something small before I work out. I try not to eat too much as working out on a full stomach makes me feel sick :)
