Cause of some dummy luck I had to put my life on hold in a matter of speaking, no school, no work, no transportation around town, etc. So I basically got lazy and became a couch potato and from that put on a 'little' weight. I'll be back and doing my normal habits soon enough, but until then I'd like to shed the extra weight I put on from sitting around doing nothing.

I figured posting on this forum would be a big push to stop being so lazy and do some work. Getting advice from other members, keeping track of my diet and exercise plans and posting some pictures throughout the way to watch any noticeable changes.

Till then, I'll be here

Hi!!!
I am new here too, and I seek the same support!!
All I can say is we have to learn not to be easily discouraged. Know that hard word does pay off, and trust me I need to practice what I preach, but dont give in, you can do whatever you want!

Smaller portions do help, as does exercise...even 30 minutes a day of walking, and water is very important.!!!

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Good luck to the both of you, and welcome to the forums.

If you find something that works, be sure to share, since I'm always looking for good tips on losing weight.

Thanks for the responses guys, yeah all I drink is water so thats never been a big problem for me. I fixed my old exercise bike and downloaded some movies onto my laptop, now I got the bike planted next to my dresser and I haven't even began to notice how long I been on it till the movie finished. Another big help is music, just filled my Ipod up and started lifting some free weights.

So I'm guessing what helps me most is having a distraction while working out.

As for dieting, snacks are my weakness, it's just gonna take self control point-blank. Other then that my meal plans are pretty healthy, oatmeal for breakfast, some fruits and veggies for lunch and I usually just cook chicken for dinner.

Hey NTM! I am in a similar position. I am taking classes online but I am not working, and I have no transportation. I just had my first child May of this year. A beautiful baby boy! I put on 50 pounds during my pregnancy. Then I gained 20 more pounds on top of that. Food has been my best friend lately..Junk food that is. I feel like ever since I had my baby I am just hungry ALL THE TIME. I am ready to make a change. I can't allow myself to put on any more weight. High Blood Pressure and diabetes runs in my family. So I don't want to be the next person in my family to fall victim to it.

I know I will need a lot of support to do this so I decided to join the forum. I wish you good luck in your weight loss journey!

Don't forget that if you have legs, you have a form of transportation. As a bonus, you get a mild exercise while transporting yourself!
If you have to go unwalkable distances, a bike could function as a cheap way of transportation as well.
