Hello! I just came upon this site and fell in love! Looks like you guys are hard workers here! I am excited to jump into the deep end with you guys and get this show on the road!
I am a 27 y/o single mom to a 6 year old boy. After I had my son, I got up to 257lbs! At 5'5'' with a small bone structure, I had really let myself go. I typically weighed in around 145 in my late teens, but it was also a rare occasion I did anything to watch my weight. I have always been a couch potato and have an insane love affair with food! I worked very hard for a year and a half doing weight watchers and hittin' the gym 6 nights a week and got down to 117lbs.! Well, fast forward a few years and I am now at 152. After my divorce, I totally stopped the gym and started eating whatever I wanted after a year of maintaining 117lbs. I have a very hectic schedule with my full time job and caring for my son. By the time my day has ended and my son goes to bed, I would usually hit the couch and stuff my face til I fell asleep because I'm to worn out to do anything else!
Two weeks ago, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and was SHOCKED at how my body looked. I knew I had obviously gained weight- but I was too busy to notice I guess. Enough was enough! That day I skipped sitting on the couch and got on my elliptical and ran for 5 minutes. I felt like puking afterwards! But, I was so happy that I did SOMETHING. The next day at work I had mentioned to a girlfriend that I was ready to get in shape and she decided to join me. We have stuck to doing the Tracy Anderson Mat video 6 nights a week. She joins me for four nights and the other two days are my "hard workouts" where I include as much cardio as I can take (usually 20 minutes! lol). I weighed in at 156 two weeks ago and as of this morning I am down to 152. I really need to overhaul my eating patterns (I joined Fitday 2 weeks ago...that was a trip!) but, am so far very please with my results just from being active! My goal is to get down to 125 as I felt very comfortable at that weight and feel it's reasonable to maintain.
I welcome any and all support I can get and in turn- I would love to extend my support to you!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to joining you all on this journey!
