I am new to the forum, i am a male 19 years of age and 5 ft 7 inches, and 240 lbs
My ultimate goal is to get to 160lbs or 170 lbs
If you don't want to read this, i do not blame you. 2 things i need help with what to eat, how to work up to running a mile. that's RUNNING with a capitol R-U-N-N-I-N-G.
Here is my plan, its not really to improve small amounts on my diet or work out. What i want to do is tear down everything and start all over. i want, no i need a radical change of life. especially since colon cancer runs in my family. i don't want to be a 20 something year old with colon cancer because i couldn't loose pull it together and lose weight (excluding the heritage). I don't believe in the magic pills or what ever they are trying to sell. i believe in hard work to achieve my goals i set.
As said I'm 19 years old with man boobs, and big thighs. I am in college right now but I could care less about what I'm going for, I've always wanted to be a U.S. Marine but as you could figure out, the weight and being out of shape stopped me dead . . . for now. I am looking for guidance on how to change my life for the better, and drop close to 70 to 80 lbs.
My father when he was 30 or so was only 135 lbs the most, my biggest fear besides not losing the weight or even gaining more weight is, finding out that i am big boned. i can feel my rib cage between my man boobs and stomach. it seams big even if i was skin and bone. I just hope that if or when i lose some weight that it will shrink with my man boobs. Or as i just found out maybe its my big butt making it look like is further out then it really is i don't know.
For the exercise i don't want to build a lot of muscle, i am pretty strong as it is, but i want to lose the wight first then add muscle. Being that i do a lot of manual labor, i do have decent muscle underneath all that fat of mine. That is why i wanted to do running to loose fat with out gaining a lot of muscle. if you guys know any other types of exercise that will help lose weight with out putting on muscle i want to hear it. i can maybe run like 100 yards or a little more. But running 1 mile is something i always thought impossible for me, now I'm going to strive for it.
I know this was kinda long, and there was still a lot more that i wanted to write down. But actually writing this down right now helped me a little today. I need to lose weight. the only thing stronger than the need to lose weight is that, I want to lose weight.
