Newbie with IBD

Hi there,
I found this forum a little while ago and have been 'lurking' regularly and finally decided it was time to get off my A and join!

A bit about myself....

I'm a 23 year old female university student, I am 4 feet 8 inches and currently 8 stone or 112 pounds. I know 8 stone sounds quite light but I am extremely petite as I have IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) so am quite pudgy in places, due to steroid treatment in the past it means that a lot of weight settles on my stomach and hips. I am looking to lose approximately a stone in weight and become healthier and fitter in general in order to boost my overall health which should hopefully help with the IBD too.

The IBD is currently pretty quiet but limits me greatly in terms of diet and some exercise. Lasting scar tissue damage means that I cannot eat many fruits and veggies (unless boiled or broken down to the point where they almost have no nutritional value and even then can only have a small amount) as it could cause my bowel to become blocked, so my diet is very full of carbs.

Does anyone else here have IBD? I am looking forward to becoming a part of what seems like such a supportive and friendly community :)
