newbie trying to slim down

Hello everyone. I have been lurking around the forum for a few months now and i finally decided that i was going to do more than just sit and read how other people lost their weight and do something about mine. Im 24 about 5'11 265 pounds and i would like to start losing weight. I was always active when i was a kid. And baseball and basketball through high school kept me in the low 200's until i graduated. Then college came and i guess the partying took place of my pick up basketball games and and fast food took the place of my home cooked meals. And so now I'm here today out of shape and ready for a change. So now i hope since i came from lurking I'll be able to finally get up and do something about it hope to see everyone around the forum wish me luck on my journey.
 
Almost similar stats to when I started (I was 283 though). I do wish you the best of luck... what are the methods you intend to use?

I'm going to cut out the fried foods and fast foods and i am also going to try to start walking/jogging and lifting weights. So far I've been going to the gym Monday Wednesday and Fridays and I have already dropped to 158. Since I'm losing I'm going to keep doing this until I stop and then I may try to count calories.
