Newbie to forum... not to dieting!

I have been observing your wonderful forum and have decided to dive in as there seems to be such a wonderful variey of people and knowledge and support. :)
I have struggled my whole life with weight and *deep breath* ended up bulimic for 8 years and wound up eventually in treatment (thanks to my husband) but have since packed on the pounds and am determined to get fit the right way this time.
I am 25yr/o, 5'10", and today weigh 215lbs. :(
I have started a 1500 average calorie per day diet and am exercising 3-5x a week.
Since I started 2 weeks ago I've lost 4.5lbs! :)
So to wrap it up I look forward to sharing my journey w/ everyone and already am so inspired by others!
 
Congrats on the weight you have already lost. What kind of exercise are you doing? Welcome to the forum, by the way.

I am glad you are going to go about things the right way this time.

That said, your cals seem a little low.

I am doing 30 min on the Elliptical + 30 min strength training and/or brisk walking for 4k in the hilly area of town... lots of fun. Rarely do I do both in one day.
I know 1500 calories seems low... sometimes I slip up and go over to 1700; but it seems to be the only way I can get results... still afraid of being fat for another summer. :(
