Newbie that needs a lot of work

Hey everyone! I stumbled upon this site while looking for some type of support. I am ready to lose some weight and I need someone to do it with. All of my friends are busy so I needed a different type of support. So, tag! You're it!

I am 27 years old and have a 7 year old son. I weighed 135 at the beginning of my pregnancy and at the end I was 220lbs. I am now 184lbs and need to hit 145lbs. I personally would be happy with 150lbs. I keep fluctuating. I went on the depo shot and gained a few more pounds and frankly I can't stand to look at myself anymore.

I want something that works. I am tired of the fad diets. I need something that actually works. I can't go to the gym because to be quiet honest, I really don't need that gym membership fee. I am the only person to raise my son currently and times are hard.

So, if anyone wants to team up or has any great low budget ideas let me know. I look forward to reaching our goals together!

I am in the same boat...I am a mum, limited money so cant afford gym etc...need to lose the weight, not for anyone else, but for me...fancy motivating and supporting each other?

Sounds good...my main problem is, that because I am at home most of the day looking after my son and my baby brother, I get the urge to snack...alot! I have tried countless times to count the calories etc, and my mum has even put up a chart on the fridge, but its jus so easy to snack in my house. I need to find something to fill up my tme, which is why I thought to join one of these forums...that way, when I feel like eating things I shouldn't be eating, I can come here and get that push not to...

Have you looked at any exercises yet? If you do check in here that should be good. It would certainly give you motivation. I have to be strict with myself too. I love mountain dew and that's a problem. LOL I stocked up on water though so now I just have to stick with it.

I am at work most of the day. The problem is that it's a desk job and I really don't get up that often. So that's not good.

How do you add those diet trackers on the bottom of posts?

I'm going to chek out the exercies tomorrow , cos I need to go to bed...but the diet starts tomorrow! No more crap, only good stuff, plenty of water, and as much exercise as I can cram in!

I hope it goes well for you tomorrow...I'll check up during the day, and I'll admit how much rubbish I had lol, including calories!!

Night

LOL and thanks! Sounds good to me! I will check in here too!

If you want the calculator...just click on my siggy where it says ticker calculator!

I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow and sleep tight...because we ARE going to do this!

Thats great that you are here. It is hard when you can't join a gym because there are so many distractions at home that keep you from working out hard. Maybe you can set your son up watching some tv in one room and you can use another tv to do one of those exercise tapes. (assuming you have two tvs) Some of them are really hard at first but if you push through it you will feel great and they get easier the more you do them. It is good having someone direct you like that until you pick up some tips then you can make up your own workout routine!

As for the sodas.. I used to drink them too and I hate water it has no taste! I bought some of those crystal light flavor packets that you stir into your water and they are awesome..Only 5 calories and they have so many different kinds to choose from!

Jessica, welcome to the board. I can't even imagine what its like to be a single mom so I wish you luck. I can't say this isn't going to be a difficult road but you can do it!!

Morning girls! Ok, so I'm guessing you are from the states...so wioth our time difference this could be interesting! lol. I'm in the UK and it's 8:35am here!

Timetoloseit, I kind of prefer being a single mum, don't you? It's harder when the kids are smaller, mine is going to be 2 this saturday coming, but I have done it all along, on my own and I have loved it! My son loves me more than anyone else in the world and it's those funny little things he does that makes me smile and makes me so happy at the end of the day.

I designed a ticker calculator...which code do I put in? the 1st or 2nd?

Welcome jessica. I strongly recommend tracking your calories. You can use a site like fitday.com to record what you eat. It helps to look at exactly what you eat on a daily basis.

LOL It is hard but the rewards outweigh the difficulty! I watch most of my tv from the computer. I downloaded a yoga video and the hip hop abs video. The only thing about the ab workout is it makes me feel like I am going to throw my back out! LOL

I know what you mean with the soda. I am definately not a water person. I tried the packets but I don't like them. However, I will drink the water regardless. I am so tired of looking like this.

Thank you for the welcome

Thank you. I used a calculator and it said I shouldn't have more than 1400 calories a day. I have been counting them in my head but that tracker sounds great. Thank you for the welcome.

Well it's 9:22pm here currently. I need to look up that time difference.

I love being a mom. It doesn't matter if I am single or not. It's just hard. Not to mention my son has ADHD and has a bunch of appointments he has to go to and I do too. I am about to not be single. LOL We move in with my boyfriend in two months.

I can't remember which code. I think it is the first one. BTW, I added you to my buddy list.

Awwwww, well hope the move goes well!

The time difference depends on where you are, but I know that new york has about 5hrs difference...

I must say, my son is one of the reasons im doing this, I want to be able to play soccer with him, chase him round the park, do all the silly things with him!!!

tried the top one....it worked, cheers for that!

Lol.

Really want to get rid of the junk in my house too....but I'm not the only one who lives here, so it really is a matter of will power in my house!!!

(This is going to be tough!!)

LOL! I understand. I really do. I thought my son was going to fight me over a pack of pecan twirls. They've been sitting there for well over a month and I took one single roll and he was upset. He doesn't really touch them but he knows that they are his. LOL He is sooooo skinny. Doesn't matter what he eats. I am so envious.

Lol. Tbh, I used to be a UK size 12, (I'm 5'8") be able to eat what I wanted, when I wanted, had a very nice build....and then I had my son! Now I'm a UK size 16, can't even look at a Krusty Kreme for fear that it will end up in my tummy, and end up getting wound up because my weight fluctuates at different times of the month. Why does nature do this to us?!?!?!

Oh well, that is why I am here!!! I want to fit back into my old clothes, be able to go out knowing I am drop dead gorgeous and sit in a bar/pub counting the guys who are trying to chat me up!!! (Oh come on, it is soooo amusing when you get guys who try, bless them! But tbh, I have assets people PAY for, so even now, I get people ask for my number and if I would like a drink)

How is your day going so far? any lapses?

Hey there. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I think it's funny about the Krispy Kreme thing! HAHA I feel that way when I look at Starbucks :)

Absolutely no lapses today. I am going to make a diary on here so I can post it. I am surprised we haven't gotten talked to yet about how long this thread is. I will let you know when I make the thread which will probably be tomorrow.

Today I had 2 cups of coffee w/splenda
1 bowl of oatmeal/tsp. of sugar
1 wheat bagel
1 Turkey Sandwich, no mayo, wheat bread, and lettuce
1 cup of broccoli
1 salad (lettuce, 1 egg, few slices of cucumber, and lite sun-dried tomato dressing)
I had water allll day...including now. It's 8:58pm here for me and I really would like a cup of coffee to end my day :-(

How about you???
