Hello!

I am excited to find this forum. I have been yoyoing up and down 30 lbs for 4 years now.

I am happy and healthy at 160-170. I am 5"7 and a thick polish build with big defined leg muscles so I dont ever get lower than 160. Plus then I have to buy all new clothing. Anyway...

4 years ago I was nearing 200 lbs and got scared. a friend introduced me to mountain biking, bought a bike and I fell in love with it. In the beginning I couldn't get enough. I would bike everyday and push myself. I loved the way my body felt, I loved that I found a sport that was getting me into shape. I was doing the lindora diet at the same time. After a few months into it I woke one day to complete exhaustion. I went to the dr and he educated me about allowing my body to recover. I knew nothing about this subject. So I started to ride 2 days and take a day off. I also started drinking (low carb) recovery drinks after each ride. Seemed to help. Then winter came and it rained and I gained! This goes on for the past 4 years.

I moved so I can bike right from my home and I bike often... a few hours 2-3 days a week.

Last year I rode a long ride 40 miles in the sierra's and I came home to adrenal fatigue. With help from my dr I started taking Siberian ginseng, licorice root, rhodiola and lots of b, c and a. It took a few months but I finally bounced back and started riding again was down at 160 last summer. In October I stared gaining weight again. A month ago I was at 200, threw the scale away. Now I wont step on a scale but I would put myself at 195.

For the past month I have kept VERY active. I ran my 1st Trail 8K a few weeks back and I bike a few times a week. My outside sales job is 80% sitting in front of the computer and I work in my home right next to my kitchen!

I am a single 40 year old. I plan my meals, package them for the week in my fridge in neat little containers. I eat very healthy, almost totally organic, and almost all fresh foods, no pesticides or hormones. I have no problem eating the same thing every day for a week. It actually makes my life a lot easier.

This morning I went to go put on my fat jeans and they were snug. How could I be watching what I have been eating for a month, exercising so much and actually not fit into my jeans?

I am glad I found this forum and I am excited to read on. I really want this yoyo to stop.

I am looking for any tips or links/guidance to lose weight through fitness and eating healthy.

Welcome! I've only just joined myself, but it really helps to have the experiences of others to draw from.

You seem to already have what most people (myself included) long for: the ability to like, and want to exercise.

I hope you find the answers that you're looking for.

hmmm

What is adrenal fatigue? I know nothing about the iadora diet.

How much do you ride when you go riding? is it very strenuous?

I am touring cyclist. Compared to other exercises flat ground cycling doesn't really burn a lot of calories. But boy if you ride your bike all day, the weight will fall off you. Every now and then (usually annually) i go on a tour for a couple of months or more. I try to eat well while on tour and yet i lose weight. When you are touring you carry more than your own weight but you exercise easily and steadily for hours. It's the duration that counts.

Its probable that your otherwise sedentary lifestyle is really what's preventing you from losing weight.

I can't tell if you are male or female. I am female.

Amen to stopping the yo yo! I hear you on that. Glad you are here! Let's fight the fight together. :D! I often work from home too, and my kitchen is right there as well!
I've been a yo yo person my whole life too. Best of luck! Love that you ride a bike!
