Newbie - Question

I'm 26 years old and recently (as in the past 2 months) I've gained back the 10 pounds it took me almost a year to lose. I'm 5' 2 and today I weigh 140 pounds. I'm a pretty small frame (size 4-6) and I work out regularly and count calories but something has gone terribly wrong. I'm hoping having this website as a resource will help me figure out where I'm going wrong. I would like to lose 1.5 pounds a week.

My question - how does the diary/journal work? Do you just keep adding to the thread that you start every day?

Well, the journal is just a personal thread here on the forum. There are no rules about what you have to post or how often you have to post. I'd suggest you drop in and read a few just to get an idea of the kinds of things people talk about. Mine is linked in my sig if you want to check it out. :)

Have you registered for a free account at fitday.com or thedailyplate.com? That will let you log your food and see exactly how many calories you're eating and where your nutrient levels are.

The bottom line is that it's all about calories in vs. calories out. If you eat more than you burn, you won't lose weight.

Thanks, I'll check out the journal section.

I've used sparkpeople in the past for counting calories and now I use the "Lose It" app on my iphone.
