Hello everyone..New guy here to the forum..28yr old male weighing in at 400lbs..Gotta get some of this off of me and i'm thinking i'm in the right place for help and motivation..Will post some pics soon..
I'm just going to really try to start eatting better..I just bought a game i'm sure people have heard of that i think is gonna help me..DDR..Its fun and gets me to sweating..good cardo i think..we'll see..i've lost 10lbs since the 20 of this month..but i'm sure its just water weight..but i happy to see that minus..
get yourself an account at or one ofthe other countless free food journal sites... it's a big help to record your daily calories to see what you are eating..
You've set one of your goals as eating better - what are you doing to make that something you can measure... effective goals are ones that you can check something off of -to ensure you're doing it -and should be as specific as possible...
Ok...i signed up for that..But could anyone sugguest good things for me to eat..I'm a truck driver who works a 4on and 4off..I usully eat twice a day while i'm working..i start a 12am and i sometimes stop and eat something around 4am(subway/breakfast sub..footlong)then i stop before i get to my stop that day(subway) which is around 11am..I was doing really bad when i got off work tho..pizza's,wings,mexican food,etc..i've done alot better about that part tho...
Subway isn't the worst thing out there for you - it's certainly better than something smothered in melted cheese and deep fried... It can be high in sodium which - if you have any blood pressure issues, you might want to watch... Just stick with turkey, even ham, and load it up with veggies and mustard or vinegar - the subway cheese is really kinda gross so pass on it if you can..
In your truck, can you keep a cooler of bottled water -it'll save you money in the long run and it's way healthier than sodas or other drinks... even diet soda aren't all that great for you - keep some apples or other fruits that you can eat in your hand as well for snacks.. or just keep packets of snacks with you -that you can prepare at home and bring with you- some of my grab and go favorites are 1 ounce packages of almonds, goldfish crackers, whole grain crackers, cube of cheese, hard boiled eggs, celery stuffed w/ goat cheese - lots of different things..
awesome...thanks alot for the advice...time to hit the road again..ohh yea..i plan on posting a couple pics when i get back..have a great day everyone..
