Newbie n 40

OK I'm REALLY opening myself up but it is time to just bite the bullet and just do it.

I just Joined La Fitness Yesterday and going to go for my first work out Today. ( week since i turned 40  )

I do have someone i work with that goes to this gym and this will help out allot.

I used to keep my weight in check and was happy. few years ago i just did not care as much . Few months ago i just told my self I'm fat, and joked with people about it when weight or inshapness came up etc.

NOW with all that behind me pushing me to go forward, I will loose the weight and tone up. Do i want to be Big etc No. mainly low fat, toned up etc. Well of course have the six pack :D But that will be several months down the road.

The Photo was taken Yesterday. I'm embarrassed to post them but this is just away for me to keep myself motived, and to show my progress as times goes by. The other Photo is From Christmas.

just take one step at a time....and everything will fall into place.....dont rush urself....anyone can be ripped and all tht crap....just go for it....good luck :)

Congrats on deciding to make a change. Just be patient and take it one day at a time. Train your WHOLE body. Base your workouts on compound execises. Do some cardio work. Get your diet in check. The changes will come, for the better. Good luck.

I suggest holding off on runnign cardio until your about 200 because it could be bad on your joints... ellipticals are great for cardio work.

Today was my first day, and i did The Bike for 20 mins ( said i did 5 miles )
then i did some machines for my arms, abs, pecs, back and legs.
3 sets of 12. LOW weights.

I might try the water work out they have. Low impact etc which looks cool.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes etc:> helps to have good words behind you to keep you going.

As to the food, that will be a thing to work on as well. Less to NO sodas, more Water and tea( NO SUGAR ). And more Veges. MORE heathy foods and no more Pizza, etc :<

Txmike ... use free weights ... far more effective than machines. You can use machines as well, but the bulk of your workout should be free weight based.

just a up dated photos. Not much change:< but in time the change will show better :>

:D
