Hello all. I go through spurts of working out, exercising, eating right and then I stop. It happens about 4 or 5 times a year. I started back yesterday and I want to tone up (here I go again). I'm 6ft and around 200lbs. 25 to 30 of that being extra body weight (beer belly) I figured if I visited a forum where everyone was doing what I'm doing, It might motivate me. The man who invented DVR must own a pizza parlor. We watch too many shows :(

Anyway... here's to my journey... again

Question for board. How do you keep yourself motivated? Discuss..

How about a question for you first...

Why do you fall of the wagon normally? Is it a matter of not realizing there's a 'life' after reaching your goal which brings about a sense of comfort as you get closer and closer. Said comfort is enough for you to become lax with your efforts... is that it?

A lot of it is being lazy and not having a lot of energy after 8-10 hours a day at work. I guess I just have a harder time getting motivated than others. But It's usually after something happens in my life. Like earlier this year I got strep throat and couldn't work out for a little over a week. After that it was hard for me to get back in the habit of going. Recently my father got really sick and nearly died. Luckily he's making a full recovery and I've started going again. I'm just hoping I can stick with it again.

Hey there!

Welcome to the forums! I lived near Memphis for a bit! So much to do! I loved it!

Motivation? I actually find this forum very motivating! My main struggle is also with keeping motivated. I just recently created a poster of the tops reasons why I want to loose. I keep it in my room and read it every morning and sometimes numerous time a day! I know it sounds kinda korny but you gotta do what you gotta do. I also started a local meetup group in my area for weight loss and education. The support is very motivating! i wish you the best of luck!!

Happy loosing!

Megan
