Hi!

I been looking at this site for a few weeks and finally decided to join last night!

So, why did I join? Well I need to lose a lot of weight. Thing is that, my attempts at losing weight never really last more than a few weeks! I generally lose motivation or get bored.

This time. Im wanting to try something that works but is manageable, any ideas? Would love to hear what works for you?

Hi zara, I to am new to this forum I really stuggle getting motivated to just wondering if you fancy a challange so it will give us both get motivation to lose some weight :grouphug:

Hey Tisher,

Its really good to see there's people to talk to, specially oz you're new too. I definitely interested in the challenge idea...what sort of thing were you thinking.

Hi Zara
welcome to the fitness.com forums.

People normally give up trying to lose weight due to lack of motivation, the way to combat this would be as tisher says "set yourself a challenge".

You also need to start slow, most people go all out, they diet insanely cutting out all the foods they enjoy and go to the gym or workout 5-7 days per week. After a few weeks they give up because its too much of a dramatic change.

The key is to start slow, make sure you exercise regularly, say 2-3 times per week, start by maybe walking for 20 – 30 minutes or do some light aerobic activity.

With diet, just look at the food you are eating, cut down portion sizes is the best way to start. People get disappointed because they want to lose a lot of weight fast, but you didn’t put weight on overnight, you won’t take it off overnight!

Hope this helps
