Hey everyone I'm Jeni and I've struggled with my weight for a very long time. I guess you can say I'm a classic case, I know what I need to be doing for myself but never accomplishing it. I've started on the right track several times but always give up, I guess my motivation goes away. I'm 24 and engaged to my dream man, his sister is getting married next August and I really want to loose weight for this event. I'm hoping at least 50lbs by then but I need long and short term goals. I've never joined a forum for support before or had any support or motivation outside my own self. I'm real happy I found this place and looking forward to tips and advice of an ongoing personal struggle. I also have several health issues because of my weight, I'm diabetic (type 2), damn genetics lol. It's been very hard living with it untreated for 2 years before diagnosis so I could truly use any kind of support.

Hello and welcome! The weight loss you have in mind is certainly achievable, and I think that spending time on the board will help to motivate you to stick with it! Have you tried keeping a food diary, and making sure you write down EVERYTHING you eat? It certainly helped me get into a better track of eating the right foods.

Hi h20:) :)
Welcome this a great sight to inspire, learn and connect with others who are going through the same thing (weight issues).

I find reading through the forums very uplifting, the stories you read are identifiable and this is a place where eveyone understands.

Don't be to hard on yourself - I have been there and it is frustrating knowing that in this area of your life you can't control.

Have you read the Cohen's forum? I am starting this in the new year.
Wonderful, quick, healthy results. We have diabetes in our family aswell type 1 & 2 so weight loss is very important in keeping this in check.

I have had friends succeed in losing weight by gradually cutting back on the rubbish they consumed eg wine, coffee with sugar, ice-cream etc one them walked and the other did housework it took longer to lose but they look amazing now.

Goodluck with it all:) Look forward to reading about your progress. Sam:)

Tomble thank you :) I have been writing everything I eat ... actually typing, I keep a FitDay Journal as well which is helping me make sure I eat enough vitamins and stay low on fats.

Sam thanks so much, I've just started and have not made it to Cohen's forum yet, however I do want to give it a read. I have not been consuming as much rubbish as I used to, I have made progress but around the holidays its extra hard.

Hi Jeni. I joined yesterday. It seems we are in a similar place right now. It's good to know we have this forum now to help us help each other along! Even though I've just joined I can see this helping in several ways. Good luck with your plans. :)

I just joined today, and also set up a FitDay tracker and journal. We are all on the same journey together. :)
