Hi everyone,
First I want to thank everyone here for taking the time to reply to threads. I have been lurking around here for about 3 weeks reading almost every thread. I am a 27 yr old male. When I was 19, I was a horse. I ran in the morning and lifted in the eve after work. I was into it for about 2 years. Then the toys came, motorcycles and jetski's. Well the jetski's were always a good workout, but the motorcycle has never helped me out. I faded from the gym and got into the party thing. I bought my house when I was 20 and so the drinking and woofing down pizza came along. ....and so did love handles and man boobs. I went from a cut lean 6'4" 192 lb dewd to now a 260lb flabby, puffy husband. Ya, that was another thing. I got married and my wife loves to cook. I wanna say she fatten'd me up but I was the one with the fork. After my last ski trip to Colorado last month, I found out what a out of shape blob I was. Carrying my ski's back to the Jeep at the end of the day "I made my decision". Im done with this way of life. I decided that when I got home, I starting over. I was not happy with how I looked, especially the man boobs. I would wear three shirts just to flatten them out a bit. I hate summer the most when my shirt would get damp a bit from sweat and my chest looked like a women's. I used to love to wear tank-tops. I still have old tank-tops from years ago and Im now planning to wear them this summer.
Well, I am now one month into it and went from 260 lbs and today weighed in at 246 lbs. Bye Bye 14 lbs!! Dont let the door hit you on the way out!
I am so proud of myself. I only cheated one time and I ate some Pizza. Boy I felt like sh#t the rest of the day ( both mental and physical). I dont even want to even think about that again. I would drink around 4 cans of pop a day, and now have quit that this last 4 weeks. I had a sip of coke a week ago just to help an aspirin down and it was so damn sweet. Yuck! how did I drink that stuff? I now eat every 3-4 hours, and am full between meals. I sometimes need to eat cause its time and not because Im hungry. I never thought a half of a chicken breast and some rice would fill me up, but it does. I think that my stomach has gotten small in size too.
Now for the big part, my wife says " Im so proud of you" "your so much happier" "I love it now that your taking care of yourself" and to top that, she is now grabbing my arms when I come home from the gym. And for the best and last part----> I have been waiting for this day for the last month. As I walked into work today, a female co-worker looked at me and says
"Damn, you working out or something?"
Talk about making your day. When someone besides your spouse or anyone who knows you are working out , says something like that, you know your doing something right! That comment will repeat in my head every workout, or every time I want to grab a beer and sit on the couch.
"Damn, you working out or something?"
thats the best motivation for me. Pretty soon someone else will say something along the same lines and that will go into my log. So I cant wait for another complement.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a good story on how I got started, who I am and so on. I plan on staying here for a long time so I wanted to start out on the right foot so people have some background on Girthy.
