Newbie from WNC

I'm from WNC too, so just thought I should say hey. I live in the Asheville area and go to Appalachian. I can't say I'm the biggest bike fan. My not-so-bright ex bf decided to do a wheelie without letting me know and I came realllllly close to falling off. Not fun. But good luck with everything and I'm glad you're okay!

hey I actually live in Asheville too! Yeah i no longer do the retarded stuff. I came WAY too close to dying the last time lol. so are you a full time student?

Welcome! I'm in NC also - grew up in Concord and now live in Hillsborough (near Chapel Hill).

I feel your pain on the ups and downs of weight loss. I went from 160 - 232 - 180 - 242. I am back at 192 now and trying to get down to the 160 mark this summer. Good luck on your journey... this time we are keeping the weight off for good!

yep its really painful to see the weight just keep creeping back slowly. it makes u feel totally powerless to stop it! well this time its history!:banghead:

at 6'3. I began a diet and exercise journey which brought me down to 155lbs

So, question. You are 6'3" and you got down to 155 - what was your body fat percentage like at such a low weight? Could you see muscle definition, etc...

I'm asking because I've really been trying to set a realistic goal for my final weight. I am 5'7" and I was originally shooting for 170... then 164... then 160. I guess I'm afraid that I will get down to my goal weight and realize I still have a ways to go before I reach my desired look / body fat %. I saw some before and after pics on this forum and it kinda confirmed that I will probably need to be under 160 in order to see any definition.

I was just wondering what your personal experience was since you've 'been there'

THANKS

well thats bit of a loaded question. Even at 155 i was still at 14% bf. I could see defination in my chest and arms but no six pack :( The problem was that i was on the low carb diet and lost a ton of muscle mass as well as fat so i just looked weird lol. This time I'm going to go with a different diet. 5 meals a day. 1 gram protein per pound lean body mass and carb tapering. Complex carb in the morning tapering off throughout the day. Hopefully this will work out better. Hope this was helpful.
