Hi there!

I'm new to the forums, but not new to struggling with my weight. Ever since I was in middle school I have struggled with controlling my weight. At 12 years old and 5 foot 1 I was 160 lbs. At 16 I managed to get down to 115 lbs, but after about three years I am back to 144, with my height at about 5 foot 3.

I'm really getting desperate to find a method to keep the weight off, and hopefully some advice on how to control bad eating habits (over-eating, emotional eating, etc etc).

Nice to meet you all!

Be Consistent

Welcome Hannah. I'm a new member and I'm getting a lot of support from this forum. I hope you're able to receive the same. I love chatting with others about weight loss and nutrition lifestyle changes. I don't believe in D.I.E.Ts because you’re Doing It Every Time. You took the first step in recognizing your problem. Why not start there. I was able to lose 60 pounds after my pregnancy. It was difficult but I kept plugging away at it. I got a journal and took the approach of documenting my thoughts and feelings because a lot of times my feeling stimulated my appetite. It was a vicious cycle that I was tired of. It’s seems you’re tired also BUT you’re still standing. Take advantage of these moments. You lost the weight one time in your Life and you can do it again. I recommend taking small steps maybe just changing your portion size and eat half of what you usually eat and mix it with exercise which should result in change. Have you looked into a gym in your neighborhood? Maybe you’re not interested; the gym isn’t for everyone. You have to find your passion. I enjoy running so I took my exercise routine outdoors. I run all throughout the year unless the weather is bad then I resort to the treadmill. It’s boring but it’s something better than nothing. Again, I recommend finding your passion and what works for you. The goal is to get those feet moving. Whatever you decide just be consistent and you’ll see change. Do you have someone to work out with? Good Luck.
