Hey all -

42 year old Hubby & Dad of 3 here. Classic ex-college football player used to eating & not gaining. Stopped playing & got fat.

Twice lost my weight & gained it back, but I think I have it beat this time - fixing causes instead of symptoms.

What else...? BIG Jillian Michaels fan (she's a tiny little Marine).

Anyway - looking forward to learning, discussing & sharing with you all.

Welcome to the forum.

You have to look at it as a lifestyle change. Until you do you will keep on yoyoing down and back up.

There is plenty of exercise that you can do that will help you maintain your weight despite no longer being in the first flush of youth.

Nutrition is central to any attempt to control your weight. The good news is that you can eat a lot of the right things and still lose weight.

Read the exercise and nutrition sections paying particular attention to the sticky threads. Also get a free account from , set up your profile and log your food and exercise. It will show you your calorie balance which determines whether you deserve to gain or lose weight. It will also show you how much protein, fibre, healthy fat, calcium etc there is in your diet so that you can hone your nutrients to apply what you have learnt in your nutritional studies.

Good luck.
