Not sure where to start, but here goes.

I'm a week into my journey to get back to a weight where I am not considered "obese" or "overweight". I've been floating around the web looking for some kind of support/motivation to keep help myself moving forward. From reading all of the posts, this seems to be a really caring, supportive community that I would love to participate in.

I'm a 47 year old guy, living in Michigan with my last kid heading to college this fall. I figure it's time to put my time and energy into getting myself back to where I would like to be....not over weight.

I currently weight 258 pounds (down from 260 last week) and am determined to get back to 180 pounds, which would give me a BMI of "not over weight".

I'm into fishing, hiking, camping, golf (but I suck), and gardening. I have also recently started a serious effort on alcohol moderation, which needed to be done to be able to focus on getting healthier.

Hope to "see" you around.

Dave

Thanks for the welcome folks, it's nice to feel like I'm not in this alone.

Dilynnlew, thanks for the tip on the stickies, there was some really good information to put things into perspective.

Unrecognizable, I love your name.....makes me think you're doing the weight loss as part of the witness protection plan!

Thanks again guys, hope to "see" you around.
