I have been trying to lose 40 lbs for the past five months, I lose two pounds and the next week I gained it back, my weight will not budge, i am pretty depressed about it but glad I found this one

In doing low carb/1200 calories, exercise at least 30 minutes, I hate exercise I tried nutrisystem and hated the food. I dnt gain weight but dont lose anything.

Maybe try and find an exercise you do like, I'm sure there's something you can do that's enjoyable. If you're not doing something you can at least learn to like, you're not going to stick with it, eh?

And are you sticking strictly to the 1200 calories? Weight can naturally fluctuate, so it's possible that you're not really losing/gaining two pounds of fat, it could just be water weight. But if you're really sticking to 1200 calories and exercising, you should be losing weight. Maybe try and add in some more exercise and more carefully monitor your calories.

Thank you! I am starting a food diary to make sure I am sticking to 1200, I also just bought Zumba so I will start that

How many meals a day are you consuming?? In a normal meal, do you eat at fast speed, maybe cause your job, not much time.. eat at normal speed or eat very slow???? what kind of exercise are you doing??
How much water are you intaking a day???

Discipline is the key of success..
I know you can make it!!!
Best Wishes

I think you probably need to stick at it for a month. Don't so much focus on the short term, and look at your weight difference a month later.

If it really is still nothing then you might need to have a look at calories. (Sometimes too little is just as bad as too many for weight loss).

But hopefully after a month, you'll see a difference.

If you have 40 pounds to lose then the weight should come off rather quickly at first. Instead of just looking at calories start looking at the types of food you are eating. If you are eating 1200 calories from sugar you won't lose much weight. If you eat 1200 calories from vegetables and protein you will lose weight and you will lose it quickly.

Thank you all for the suggestions and the support, I need it. I get discouraged right away if I don't see progress right away. I want it to melt off in a week! I know crazy and it does not help that I have isolated myself from going anywhere because any time I see a relfection of myself I feel gross. I also would like to get pregnant next year and I refuse to put 30lbs on what I currently weigh. This forum is inspiring

Hi. Count ever calorie and weight your food. Look for things you might be adding to your foods that add a lot of calories. Keep tract of it all and I'm sure you'll see why your not losing weight.
I did that and found realized I was eating a lot more than I thought. Now I know that I am losing wt.
