Hey everyone,

My name is Hank Nicholson.

I'm looking forward to interacting with all of you, both to find some support on my own journey, as well as maybe contributing to the community with some things that I've learned over time.

I recently managed to go into the so-called 'single digits' with my bodyfat, which was beyond awesome.

But anyway, it's great to be part of this community, and I'm looking forward to sharing some experience!

Take care,

Hank

Hey Hank,

Tell us more about your statistics (weight, age. height, exercise, calories etc) if you like, so that we know where you are at and where you want to get to.

Thanks man, I'm 28 years old, 6 ft. 1, and 165 lbs.

Currently body fat is between 10% and 11%, which is definitely okay and not really 'fat' at all (didn't always use to be like that though). But I want to go down to about 8% in the next three months.

I've done that before (last year), so I think I can do it again, although it did require some pretty hardcore exercise and nutrition plans... at least, for most of the time. I always planned for some more or less occasional 'binges'. ;-)

The core of my exercise is always weight training, but when I aim for fat loss I do it in a way that I'm giving myself a pretty intense cardio workout just by doing weights.

And then I add to that some additional cardio. I can outline more details if you want...

Some holds for my eating. I don't even count calories anymore. I kinda learned pretty well how my body responds to various impulses (and how to make sure it keeps doing so, so I don't hit a plateau)... so it doesn't really require detailed calculations anymore.

The whole thing sort of resulted from years of trial and error. I used to be chubby as a kid, then turned into a 'skinny fat person', and just had a very hard time overall getting to a lower body fat percentage and a more 'muscular' appearance.

Anyway, it's nice to connect with like-minded people here and get some inspiration... share some tricks... and so on.

Hank and Used2bfat,

You guys are amazing. One of the most unexpected findings in my life happened this year and it has to do with weight loss. Staying in control of your weight for the rest of your life will continue to be what and how much you eat.

I have for the most part eaten well all of these years. AND I have maintained very good fitness practices. The last two years, I had a falling out because I THOUGHT that I could eat whatever I wanted and just do the workout (4 mile run and toning weight program). Well when my diet fell apart a couple years ago, I found out how that was not true.

Take my word for it, eat well now and have it mastered your whole life.
