Hi everybody,

I have just started the process of weight loss surgery, have my first appointment at the hospital on 13th December, still really worried have I done the right thing or should I just try to keep trying to lose weight and putting it all back on again, I am a major yoyo dieter. Anybody who can advise me on what to expect would be greatly appreciated....the main concern I have does the need for food all the time go away after surgery??

Hi and welcome!

Is this a gastric bypass your having then? If so you will still feel hungry as normal but will stay full for longer once you eat something, your stomach will be a hell of a lot smaller so you cant get as much food in there. You will be advised to eat more often throughout the day instead of just 3 meals to keep your nutrients and vitamins up.

My mother had a bypass a few months ago and shes lost LOADS of wegith so far but she hardly eats any protein so shes having to take these protein bombs to keep her hair from falling out. Just make sure your taking the required vitamins and nutrients to sustain your body and you will be fine. :)

Good luck with everything!
