Hey everyone! It's good to be here, or bad depending on how you look at it. I think I'll just use this thread to give you a bit of my history since that seems to be the trend. The most I've weighed is 285lbs, last September. I'm only five foot four, and according to the powers that be I should be around 133-137lbs... if memory serves.

I'm nineteen and was engaged at a young age. When my ex and I broke up I was determined to start loosing weight. I kind of had that 'stick it to him' attitude I guess. I got involved with weight watchers and then worked out for about a month with a personal trainer friend of mine. Since September '08 I've lost 45 lbs, but I have a long way to go.

I'm involved in both martial arts and horseback riding and that's where I get most of my cardio outside the gym. I take karate four times a week and get a pretty good workout from that.

Recently I've begun to have some knee trouble. I'm not sure if it's from lifting weights or more time in karate... but I went to the chiropractor and he gave me knee straps. Apparently my knees crack like pop rocks when they bend because hydrogen bubble pockets in my knees are popping, and I don't have enough cartiledge so my joints might be rubbing... o_O Fabulous. It makes working out a bit trickier.

I was jogging a mile and working on my time, but once my knees got bad and I started lifting I cut down on that. Apparently the treadmill is high impact and bad news bears for my knees. So I mostly work the elliptical, do the bike, and practice karate. Hopefully my knees improve soon. -fingers crossed- Apparently I'm supposed to do wall sits to strength the muscle around my knee... but god they're a pain.

When I was working with my friend I was eating 4 protein/fat meals a day, with maybe one meal with a slow digesting carb. Then we'd have refeed day. I have notes on it... it's this complicated deal where I was measuring out my food intake, etc. Overall it wasn't a bad program and I plan to do some variation of it in the future. That or take the easier route and join weight watchers.

Now, I seem to have an odd problem. I don't eat. I know what you're thinking. She got to 285lbs and she says she doesn't eat? Well folks, it's true. I get upset, I don't have time, I want to loose weight, I'm not hungry... it just happens. Today I had a yogurt for breakfast, a wrap with chicken & lettece & ceasar dressing for lunch, and a whole wheat sandwich with turkey and a sm. amt of mayo for dinner. Now this wouldn't be so bad... but I also did 30 minutes of high intensity sweating on the elliptical plus two hours in karate classes. Oh, and I drank water and diet coke.

This was actually a pretty good day for me. Sometimes I forget to eat at all until dinner and then I wolf something down before bed. Not the best idea, I know. Then my body would break and I'd just go on a binge and have some pizza slices or pasta... you know the good evil foods. This was before I started to get really into health, but the tendencies of not being able to get my meals in still sticks. If only I could starve myself to loose weight. That actually doesn't work I've found. Lammmeeee. Hard work stinks.

Basically I've been over weight my entire life. I'm sick of it. I'm a pretty girl and I want to feel that way inside and out. I guess I came here mainly because things fell through with my trainer friend and there's really no one else in my life that really understands and supports my drive to work out and stay healthy.

My major in college is criminal justice and I HATE to think that I could miss out on opportunities because of my weight. I think I might go to law school next, where it might not matter as much as if I did something in say, law enforcement but still... I don't like having options cut off due to this.

So... that's the run down. Sorry if it was a bore. Nice to meet everyone! I hope this will be a great place where I can learn, make some like minded friends, and that it will help me reach my goals.

Welcome to this forum!

Wow, you are just 19 years old and you have already so many experiences in life... But glad you are still very young and learn from your experience..

Aw, how can you forget to eat? o_O You are busying with something?
It's really great you have already lose so much weight.

We are here, just like you, same purposes.. losing weight...
So when no one understands you, here we are..... =D

Good luck with your journey.

Yay! Someone FINALLY posted in my intro -hugs-

I forget to eat because I'm going, going, going 24/7. I'm taking 20 credit hours this semester, I'm in a club on campus, I work out daily, I take 4 classes of martial arts a week, plus once a week horseback riding, I go out with friends and try to keep up with that thing we call a social life... just sometimes there isn't time...

Thanks for the love. It's great to have people in my corner.

I used to forget to eat all the time! If you are on the go go go you forget to eat. The only reason I eat now is, because I am at home all day which reminds me to eat. Sometimes thats all there is to do.. which can be a bad thing. Im 21-married-I have a 2 yr old and I am an event photographer. Sometimes I still forget to eat. My problem was the same. I would not eat anything all day and at night I'd order pizza or make something very high in carbs. Sodas all day..diet but like 6 a day. I would binge at night then wouldn't eat anything until the next night. I know exactly what you are saying. I have been fat my whole life too so I understand wanting to be the best you can now that your starting a new part in your life.

Good Luck hun!

Yay! I'm not the only one! <33 Thanks for understanding. I feel like such a freak sometimes, it's nice to know it happens to everyone. You guys rock.

Wow, a 2 yr old?! I'm sure you have your hands full with that one. It's great that you want to get healthy on top of being a mom and working, and all the stresses of life. :)
