Hi everyone!

I'm a 21 year old female, whos been struggling with her weight most of her life. After my first year of college I hit my all time high of 200lbs (I'm only 5'3") The next year I decided it had gotten out of hand and lost about 50lbs in 9 or so months. Now about a year later I fell off the track again and now I weigh 175lbs.

How does everyone keep themselves motivated!? I seem to stay motivated for a short period of time and then lose it again. Advice pleasee!!!

I think, for me, getting out there and actually telling people how much I've lost is motivation enough, along with the fact that people actually notice! I'd hate for those compliments to stop just because I gained the weight again. I also donate all my clothes that are too big, that way if I gain the weight back, I'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe again! That's been motivation enough for me so far.

Welcome to the forums, and I wish you the best of luck!

The motivation will come when you start noticing the difference yourself.

Take a photo of yourself at day 1, dont look at it until at least 2 weeks into your weight loss regime and compare it to what you look like when you go back to look at the photo.

Sometimes, you might not notice the changes in how you look until you can compare photos.

It has worked for myself, I didnt think I had lost anything after 2 weeks but when I compared the photos I realised I had made some inroads and that has kept me going for two more weeks (and counting!).

I now have 4 sets of photos and all of them show improvement. It has been a really great motivator and I recommend it.

I also have a photo of myself when I was younger and are using that as inspiration to where I want to get.
