*sigh* Where to start?

Not very happy with myself. I gained 70 lbs while I was pregnant with my daughter. It has been over a year, and I haven't lost any of it. Most of it was due to my "I'm pregnant, I can eat whatever I want" attitude, the rest to rampant Pre-Eclampsia.

No excuse for why I haven't really tried getting back to where I was previously. I was never very athletic before I got pregnant and didn't pay particular attention to what I ate... just somehow seemed to stay within my ideal weight range.

Anyways. I got a kick in the ass after seeing a clip of myself on the news. I am huge! I seriously feel sick to my stomach and I realize I need to do something. I knew I was overweight, but I guess because I never really saw myself from another's POV, I didn't realize just how bad it really is.

I'm here to figure out what I can do, what I should eat, and how to get myself started.

I'm Camber, by the way. And only 21.

HELP!

start by reading the stickied threads - particularly in nutrition and exercise and relax... it's really not hard -just take it one step at a time.. and you will get to hwere you want to be

Hi Camber,
I'm 21 as well, and I also gained 70 pounds (but atleast you had some type of excuse, I wasn't pregnant- just depressed and in denial).

It is HARD to get motivated, but once you start the ball rolling, its so easy! If you make small changes, you'll notice big results super quick. If you can start some type of light exercise, like walking on a treadmill, for just 20 minutes, or if you don't have access to gym equipment, dancing around in your room, etc, you'll feel better and you'll notice that as the days go buy, you'll be able to increase the length and intensity of your work out.

Also pay attention to what you are consuming. Your don't have to go on a diet, but just sit down and really break down what things you're putting into your body that you shouldn't be. Do you eat a alot of fried foods, or sweets? Drink a lot of cola, or alcohol? I personally like to have an idea of how many calories (approx.) the food I eat has, so that I know that I'm not eating more than I should be. Best of luck, and stay positive! You're 21, I'm sure you're beautiful, and you have so much in life to see and to do!
