New Year, New Thread for Those who Weigh 200 lbs/90 Kg or More

Hey Everyone!

Well, it's been awhile. I'm still at the same weight, but that's due to me not exercising like I should.

So, I've gotten into the habit of finally going to the gym 4-5 days a week. Bout time, especially since I got my membership in July and it's now October and I'm barely starting to use it. But it's more convenient to go now that I have to go to school 3 days out of the week and i pass by the gym all of the time.

So, now that I am trying to go to the gym as often as possible, I believe that I will now start getting down in weight. I can already say that I feel tons better by working out.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew when I should up the workout routine in level / weight and or reps. Most likely when I find that the workout that i am doing comes more easily, without any type of struggle? Right?

Later,

Veronica!

PS... CONGRATS Kevi & princess_lolli for almost being out of the 200+

I say you start at a pace of 7/3 reps/sets. Then level up by 3 reps when you think 7 is lighter than before. It's really up to you though.

Update, yesterday after basketball, I hit 201.2 Lbs. A little bit more of cardio and im out of 200s! :)

It depends...I've never really heard of an "easy, no struggle workout before" especially if you are trying to lean down, build muscle and lose weight.

I like Kevi's plan, but you have to go with what feels right to you of course. Maybe start where you left off last time, and adjust from there.

Personally, anytime I'm on layoff from the gym I find I have to step down in endurance, intensity, and weight and build it back up again.

Keep us posted.:hurray:

I'm back. I've decided I might need a little more support. I'm eating 1500 calories a day (which, according to losertown means I'll be out of the 200s by March 9--a dream come true, right?), starting today. I bought a Wii fit about a week ago and I enjoy it even though the activity it induces is not incredibly strenuous. You can tell that the Japanese really, really think balance is important.

Good for you! I know you'll get there. Just remember, even if you don't reach your goal by March 9 don't give up. Activity doesn't have to be strenuous, just consistent. :)

Hi everyone, Im working on "getting into" the 200's club..lol. I have been over 300 pounds for many many years...Well...im only a couple pounds away. Im looking forward to the time when i say that about being almost out of the 200's. It will happen, step by step.

Hi,

So, as we all know, I've been here awhile and still at the same weight. Well, I can't say it's anyone's fault but mine. So, I've decided to do some stuff to step up my game.

The whole food thing is what's bringing me down. I've realized that I just don't eat the way I'm suppose to. There are so many options out there that I just can't seem to choose the right foods.

So, on Monday this week, I joined Jenny Craig with my mother. It's the best thing for both of us. Considering that my mom is just barely under the 300lbs mark and when I weighed in, I was at 249.4. This isn't good. So, hopefully with the help of the program and the use of my LA Fitness membership, I can get down to my goal weight of 175.

I know following the Jenny Craig program it's going to be hard, especially with the Holidays right around the corner, but honestly, knowing me, once the Holidays hit, if I didn't join, I know that I would be moving up the scale instead of what we are all here to do... move down it. So, good luck to me. Plus, good luck to all of you out there who are striving for the same thing... A healthy lifestyle and weight.

Hey Welcome back!

Thanks for the welcome!! When did this thread slow down so much? Is there another one that people just haven't told us about, or did everybody just lose all their weight and wander off?

Hi guys, its been ages since I've been on here but I'm newly motivated to lose a ton of weight. Where did everybody else go!?

I started going to the gym almost every night and I've reduced my calorie intake to between 800-1000 calories a day. I've lost about 12 lbs already this month and hope to lose another 18 before christmas. I know its drastic but I'm meeting my boyfriend's family in Ohio and I don't want to be nearly as big as I am now.

I gained back all the weight I previously lost plust about 10 extra pounds, but now I'm back on track. I feel really good this time around because I'm looking at it as a long term life change rather than I need to diet for a while to lose weight. I'm excited to keep it up and see the progress.

How is everyone else doing?!

Welcome Back Cameraobscura!

Well everyone, I survived Thanksgiving! All the food and yummy goodness and it didn't mess me up. My weight stayed exactly the same. Which is good, because I thought that me stepping away from the Jenny Craig program menu was going to hurt me, but it didn't because I was able to maintain my weight.

So, this week my JC counsler told me is the Body Phase of the program. So, I got to start counting my steps and working out a few days out of the week. That will be good, I haven't really used my gym membership in awhile, but that's going to change for this phase. I'm so glad, I've lost like 8 pounds in one month. Hopefully this 8lbs per month loss keeps up because than I'll be at my goal weight of 175 by August. That's what I'm shooting for because my cousin is getting married that month, I'm a bridesmaide, and I dont want to look how I do now.

Hope the Holidays are going well for everyone!

Hopefully meeting them goes well. I took my guy, Sean, to go meet my family in CA on Thanksgiving. He liked everyone in my family. However, my mom drove down with us, so he kinda got Mom overloaded and doesn't care for her much because of her "I'm always right" attitude. I wish your meeting the best tho. Hopefully you get along with everyone in his family!
